As advertised it is relatively easy to put together, and it has a very handsome appearance. The color is more of a dark mahogany than a cherry. Most of the panels are wood with wood veneer, but a couple of parts were particle board with a veneer. One caution: be sure your dvd player, converter box, or other apparatus that goes in the stand is 17 inches wide or less. This is the width of the center panel behind the glass door. Mine just barely fit. The door itself would be slightly more functional if it did not have the cross bars. Aleixo Ordering furniture online is always a crap shoot, which is why I always find the reviews helpful. We were looking for a TV console with a cherry finish to sit under our wall-mounted 46" LCD. The Grand Aspirations model seemed to fit the bill and at a very competitive price. It arrived in four days and turned out to be even better than I had hoped. As others have mentioned, the ease of assembly is worth as much as the quality of the unit itself. It's three quarters of the way assembled right out of the box because of the accordion interior walls, and the rest goes together in 10-15 minutes. It took me longer to rip up the cardboard shipping box for the recycle bin than it took me to assemble. The unit is sturdy, looks great, and is of a much higher quality than most online furniture of this type. The cherry finish is indeed darker than pictured, but very pleasing to the eye. Putting the stand together was not difficult, but I would recommend that you get familiar with the plans and different parts before you begin. By the way, remotes work through the ribbed glass! I was in no hurry to complete the project, so I was in no hurry to get it done. To me, the glass doors were the hardest thing to deal with. Getting them to be even, straight and aligned with other parts took some effort and resulted in a little frustration, but I was able to get the doors satisfactorily lined up. My biggest concern is that the veneer is so paper thin, and was chipped or peeling slightly in a few places out of the box. Mind you, it wasn't a huge issue, but I am concerned that when dusting, the cloth will catch some of the rough edges and pull the veneer off. Hopefully, it won't happen though. Also, one of the fasteners first bent and then broke and they don't give you any extras. I'm quite sure Bush would have gladly replaced the part by mail. Fortunately, my old Bush television stand had similar fasteners, so I could use one from it since it was being replaced with the new stand. Good value and quality, but can be improved By Scott Hewitt Once assembled, this TV stand is attractive and sturdy. At $200 +/- it's also a good value. Much better quality than say a typical IKEA piece, but assembly is more difficult. Assembly should be done by two people. It can be done by one person (I did it), but next time I'll have someone help. The top is very heavy (which is good - it's solid), and you have to align holes in the top with wood dowels in cross braces that want to "spin" while you are aligning them. This leads to the next improvement - the wood dowels are not press fit, push in too far and easily fall out. The kit includes a bottle of glue, but glue (which is messy) would not be necessary if the parts were better-designed. The wood dowels should be press fit (tap with a hammer) and require no glue. Alignment of the doors to get them level with each other and to get uniform gaps around and between the doors is a bit of a trick. That step alone took me almost 15 minutes. There is a shelf behind each door. The shelf support pin holes were not present in one of the sides. They were there, but coverd with the vinyl. This is a quality-control issue. All that said, I would definitely buy another one. In fact, when I'm done with this review I will order one for my father-in-law who saw mine and liked it. I am very picky, and had a vision of what I wanted, but I couldn't find it. Then I saw this! I immediately ordered it, I put it together myself, and it is just beautiful. The color is very dark, not really what I would call a cherry, but more of an ebony wood. The seeded glass in the doors adds a touch of real class and sets this piece apart from so many other TV consoles. It is a heavy, substantial piece, and looks like it cost $5,000! Alvine Arrived early from Everything Furniture(because est ship date was ridiculously delayed). Arrived in good condition. Small split topside veneer + big scratch on 1 plexiglass window. Assembly was easy for 1 person - took under 2 hours to complete. Looks good with 58" flatscreen, and my center channel fits (barely) in the center shelf (the key reason for purchasing this model). Design probs: Once you install doors there is no way to remove them to install an electronics component with the standard 18" width. The door hinge pins should have been designed for easy removal. Instead I had to unbolt the top panel of the unit to remove the doors (and first move the 100lb unwieldy tv). A huge p.i.t.a. for what should be simple door removal. Secondly, the doors are constructed so that there is no manner to remove the windows without breaking/damaging the door itself. The windows should be removable for ease of cleaning - for easy replacement (with plexiglass, glass, frosted glass, colored glass, speaker mesh, etcetcetc). I'd like to meet the morons who designed the doors and kick them directly in the genitals for being absolutely incompetent. Otherwise, the unit is looks nice. Its sturdy and holds a fair amount of stuff (remember to load everything & wire it all before installing the doors). 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. John By John Gribbin Was very pleased with the product. Definitely worth the money. 2 hours to assemble. Amazon photo is very good but (on my computer)doesn't show the cherry color. Stand is definitely cherry wood and very rich looking as well. I was trying to find something I could fit a printer in. The side door dimensions worked for me. Opening with door in place is about 15 1/2 wide. Inside of space is 17 1/2 wide. Opening without door in place is 16 1/4 due to post looking thing on each side. Someone mentioned the doors not fitting perfectly. They might be right but they are really pretty close. Good enough for me and I'm a little picky. Again the photo is what you get. As to the door hinges. If you wanted to remove the door I think you could do so without taking the top off. Use of a couple of razor blades or box cutter tool would allow you to pull the spring loaded pin down and pop off the door. There is no actual hinge rather there is a spring loaded pin, top and bottom of the doors that slides into a predrilled hole in the unit. You depress the pin (Like the top of a ball point pen)slide the door in place and they pop into place. A little hard to describe. The unit is heavy and well made. Has a very dressy look to it. Because it sets on solid wood legs, you don't have to worry about sliding it on the carpet and peeling off the veneer as some have mentioned with other units. On my stand I covered the plexiglass doors with a faux black leather contact paper. 5 bucks at Home Depot for a huge roll. The paper has a matt finish and looks quite nice IMHO. I took some photos and will try to add them to this review or add them separately under the share your photos area. This is a new item made of solid hardwood. This is a great/sturdy shelf unit! This rich cherry stain will blend in with your furniture and make a beautiful accent piece. Great for holding books, CD's, artwork, and plants. DVD's fit in the shelves long side down. Drilling for holes was inconsistent: some still had wood in them that needed to be knocked out, others were too big and don't hold screw tightly. Once done, legs were uneven. Had to put felt on the bottom of 2 legs to keep it from wobbling. Although it's not obvious from description, 3 shelves of 5 actually set in on pegs, and thus aren't that sturdy. It is typical of many low-end, mass produced modular furniture peices on the market. All wood pieces are "veneer" over partical board. The pieces are assembled with manufactured hardware (metal dowels and metal locking nuts that you insert into predrilled holes on each wood peice). The hardware is specifically designed for the unit so don't lose any! There are about 30 or so wood peices and at least 100 differene peices of hardware. It's best to spread it all out prior to construction. The instructions are a small printed, so some care is needed in making sure you're working on the right peice during each step. And it it can be hard to tell which side you're supposed to be instering the hardware on some peices. No worries though, the hardware removes easy enough when you make a mistake. Overall assembly took about an hour with the help of another adult. The finished product looks very nice, and the shipping process resulted in only a few minor blemishes - which is really good considering we live on an island in Alaska and it came through UPS, which means it got transfered from manufacturer, to truck to jet, to float plane and then to ATV BEFORE it reached our post office... Good packaging, which definately took some abuse in shipping. The unit is smaller than I expected but has a surprising amount of space. The corner design also fits tightly into the corner, which makes it look even smaller. Which could be a really good thing for a small house or apartment. And still it provides great storage for components. It fits our 42" Panasonic Flat screen with a few inches to spare. Has room for a PS3, a home theater receiver, DVD and VCR and the kids Wii. However, media storage is limited so you might find yourself looking for a media shelf or cabinet in which to store all your movies/games. In summary, this is well worth the $229 we paid. Relatively light contact with the pieces during assembly instantly left scratches (white under the black paint). Fortunately I had pretty good luck coloring in the scratches with a black Sharpie pen, but closer inspection reveal the flaws fairly easily. While putting our television up on the stand, we allowed it to briefly rest on the surface of the TV stand and that too left a couple visible indentations in the "wood". The stand comes competely unassembled. Our shipment was missing 8 screws (antiqued brass colored, so not something we could find in any store). Home Decorators was very easy to work with and they offered a decent sized store credit, a somewhat smaller cash credit, or the option of shipping it all back at their expense for an exchange. Since I spent countless hours assembling the beast, I was in no mood to ship it all back (probably impossible for me to figure out how to jigsaw it all back into the larg box in any case), so I took the cash credit. I still can't find the right screws, so I'll either get something close and try to make it look "old" myself, or give up and replace all the screws with non-antiqued screws. No complaints at all about working with Home Decorators to resolve this problem. Unless you're pretty good with asssembling things, think twice about this product. The instructions are Excellent and all parts are well labeled -- the problem is that if you can't line up door hinges accurately, etc., the unit is going to show all the flaws of your efforts. The product comes with pre-drilled holes, but as I found out, those holes aren't quite lined up that well so the finished product looks sloppy (wide gap between doors on one side, small gap on other side, for example). I blame myself for the way it looks, but I should have known better. Don't expect their guideholes to lead to a good looking end-product. Finally, the red streaks that are supposed to make this look "antiqued" do not look like that at all. The smooth finish looks very factory-like and the red streaks look pretty lame--almost like a weak afterthought. while the style may be traditional, the look ends up being less appealing than expected. I would suggest paying a few more bucks at an antique store for an authentic, full-assembled, table. For all its faults, it's not a Bad piece. Does the job and blends in fine with an Asian-themed decor. Considering how soft the wood and finish are, however, I don't think the stand will survive a move to another home. It is so big it won't fit on my oversize entertainment unit. If I put it on top of the unit, the turntable would hit the wall and wouldn't turn anyway. The turntable is 22" deep x 42" wide. The product description did indicate that it was 1" tall - for all the good that is. The thing is going back and naturally I am getting stuck for the return shipping! By Gabe We purchased this item because we thought it would look good in our upstairs gameroom with a travel theme that displays items from our world travels. This item really looks nice. The problem is that it is not very convenient when it comes to function. The way you store your media in this storage cabinet will not be very convenient when trying to access the CDs or DVDs. You have to file them in double rows or stacks, so imagine trying to find a movie or cd in a back row or stack. You would have to begin removing the media in front to try and find something in the back. You will not be able to see all your media at a glance to pick a cd/dvd. You will have to move media around to be able to see the what is behind it. Very poor design. Who wants to be removing or shifting media around to try to find something? Not me. Its basically a shelving cabinet (not specifically designed for CD/DVD storage). I can't stand having to move stuff around to find what I am looking for, so I suppose we will store other stuff in it and get a cabinet specifically designed to store music and movies. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Came in 2 boxes: a 40lb square box full of shelf slats and an 80lb box almost 6 ft long full of the main unit itself, the back paneling and the hardware. Setup took maybe 30 min at the most if you have everything laid out. Note: even though the main unit pieces are labled with letters on the instruction sheet, there are no stickers on the pieces themselves, but you can pretty much identify what goes where and in what direction. And like the other reviewer stated, the shelf is VERY sturdy, and the back board is much stronger since it slides in and is screwed in. Think of the backboards as pretty much wood paneling that you put up on walls. And it does hold a lot of DVDs. I've got 5 rows filled w/ 1/3rd shelf left on the 5th row and a whole row of 3 more shelves to fill. I bought it off of Target's website when the price was $217, instead of $289. I ordered it last week and had it put together today. It's beautiful, the wood is a nice rich cherry color, and the overall appearance is very elegant. They give you plenty of shelves to store all your media. The hardware is made of aluminum and isn't the greatest, but that is to be expected from an item you purchase unassembled. My only complaint is that the holes for the shelf supports aren't continuous from top to bottom, but instead there are gaps where the wood is solid. This limits where you can set the shelves, and if you want to primarily store DVDs, you have to space them out a bit and lose some storage space. But it's not a significant issue. I ordered it on May 22nd, 2009 and it arrived in Dallas on June 2nd with free super saver shipping. Martin did a great job of packing the unit so that it would not get damaged. The unit is actually a lot darker than I thought it would be by looking at the stock photo. The doors on it are solid hard wood. The middle drawers have a hard wood door with pressed wood side walls and bottom. The back is veneer and the shelves inside the doors look like they're some sort of particle board or something like that with veneer. I really love the fact that I didn't have to put this thing together. The only thing you have to do is screw on the handles and put the shelving in where you want it. The middle drawers will hold between 115 and 120 DVDs in regular sized clamshells. They can be configured for three rows of CDs or two rows of DVDs in each drawer. I doubt they'll hold two rows of Disney video tapes but I don't have any so I can't check. The only thing I'd change is it would have been nice if they would have included a couple of more shelves to put in each side to give the users a little more flexibility but that's not really a big deal. TINY and cheap By juli I thought this would really help organize my kids and put it on a wish list with a bunch of other things, so when my mother in law told me she got this for us, i was anxiously awaiting a more organized room (batman toys EVERYWHERE!), when it arrived not only was i disappointed in the size (not the worst because i could have looked at the dimensions online), but it's largely put together with wooden dowels. there are only 4 "cam locks" to keep the thing semi sturdy. it also has numerous parts that are scratched, peeling and chipping. i have put together a lot of good furniture and a lot of cheap furniture over the years (as you'll do with attempting to organize 3 kids) but this was by far the cheapest and the smallest and the worst waste of money. i can't believe they are trying to charge over a hundred for it normally. here i thought we were getting some sort of deal with it being 40% off. not at all. i still feel gipped. but since it was a gift and it is for a 3 and 1 year old i'm just gonna keep the thing rather than go through the hassle of disassembling it and complaining about it only to get a store credit. (my MIL didn't buy from Amazon because of the shipping and got it from Target.com). back to the size too: you would THINK cubbies were the standard cubby size but the bins are miniscule. 8.5 in by 8.5 in. also, though not everyone will be concerned about this, it is made in china, like most cheap things. i have now vowed that if i am going to buy cheap furniture it's going to be ikea cheap furniture because at least it goes together better than this and it's made in sweden and they recycle their old pieces. don't waste your money. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. I didn't even want to know what the process was going to be to fix that issue, nor did I want to wait for another one. So, it definitely took two people to put it together. I don't know how much actual wood this thing is made of but it really doesn't matter. You cannot tell the difference. I had been looking for a dark cherry, corner entertainment center to match my wood bedroom furniture for years and never found a decent looking solution. This TV stand looks elegant, appears sturdy and matches the other furniture perfectly! And, the construction is straight forward. It takes a while but, if you can work a screw driver, you can do it. The door handles are of questionable design and I wish it had another cable access hole in the back but those are minor drawbacks. Cabana Banana Corner Entertainment Cabinet By Erin Dalton I searched the Internet thoroughly before deciding upon this piece of furniture. It appeared to be exactly what I wanted. Well...in the first place, the color indicated on every site I found it on looks to be a warm light brown (as is the picture). In reality it is a very dark brown more like black coffee than Cocoa as the name implies and the photo indicates. Secondly, I have put together many pieces of "to be assembled" furniture (my entire kitchen) with NO problem. The first three pieces went together fine. After that, it was a nightmare. Many of the holes were not drilled correctly and didn't "quite" line up as they should so the end product is just slightly off. I had to put two nails in the front frame because the drilled holes did not line up. I had to reposition one of the hinges which was off by 1/2". The magnet holes were off and had to be redrilled. I would have returned it but it's too big and there is nothing else I have seen anywhere in stores and on-line that fit the space and the look I want. If I didn't need it now, I would have returned it. I will just have to live with it and try not to notice that it just isn't right. Reconsider and choose something else rather than this cabinet and by this company. Looks great in the photo....NOT!!! See all 1 customer reviews...

Fulton This is a fairly sturdy piece of furniture. It takes about 1-1/2 to 2 hours to assemble from start to finish. It also looks good when assembled. Halcomb Excellent instructions, easy to assemble, and sturdy. Once assembled it looks very nice - the cherry color and traditional style are difficult to find. At this price you are getting contact paper on particle board, not wood veneer. I had a few spots that needed glue or stain stick touch up.
