As advertised it is relatively easy to put together, and it has a very handsome appearance. The color is more of a dark mahogany than a cherry. Most of the panels are wood with wood veneer, but a couple of parts were particle board with a veneer. One caution: be sure your dvd player, converter box, or other apparatus that goes in the stand is 17 inches wide or less. This is the width of the center panel behind the glass door. Mine just barely fit. The door itself would be slightly more functional if it did not have the cross bars. These can block the signal from a TV remote from certain angles. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. TV Console is great! By Eleanor L. Aleixo Ordering furniture online is always a crap shoot, which is why I always find the reviews helpful. We were looking for a TV console with a cherry finish to sit under our wall-mounted 46" LCD. The Grand Aspirations model seemed to fit the bill and at a very competitive price. It arrived in four days and turned out to be even better than I had hoped. As others have mentioned, the ease of assembly is worth as much as the quality of the unit itself. It's three quarters of the way assembled right out of the box because of the accordion interior walls, and the rest goes together in 10-15 minutes. It took me longer to rip up the cardboard shipping box for the recycle bin than it took me to assemble. The unit is sturdy, looks great, and is of a much higher quality than most online furniture of this type. The cherry finish is indeed darker than pictured, but very pleasing to the eye. Putting the stand together was not difficult, but I would recommend that you get familiar with the plans and different parts before you begin. By the way, remotes work through the ribbed glass! I was in no hurry to complete the project, so I was in no hurry to get it done. To me, the glass doors were the hardest thing to deal with. Getting them to be even, straight and aligned with other parts took some effort and resulted in a little frustration, but I was able to get the doors satisfactorily lined up. My biggest concern is that the veneer is so paper thin, and was chipped or peeling slightly in a few places out of the box. Mind you, it wasn't a huge issue, but I am concerned that when dusting, the cloth will catch some of the rough edges and pull the veneer off. Hopefully, it won't happen though. Also, one of the fasteners first bent and then broke and they don't give you any extras. I'm quite sure Bush would have gladly replaced the part by mail. Fortunately, my old Bush television stand had similar fasteners, so I could use one from it since it was being replaced with the new stand. Good value and quality, but can be improved By Scott Hewitt Once assembled, this TV stand is attractive and sturdy. At $200 +/- it's also a good value. Much better quality than say a typical IKEA piece, but assembly is more difficult. Assembly should be done by two people. It can be done by one person (I did it), but next time I'll have someone help. The top is very heavy (which is good - it's solid), and you have to align holes in the top with wood dowels in cross braces that want to "spin" while you are aligning them. This leads to the next improvement - the wood dowels are not press fit, push in too far and easily fall out. The kit includes a bottle of glue, but glue (which is messy) would not be necessary if the parts were better-designed. The wood dowels should be press fit (tap with a hammer) and require no glue. Alignment of the doors to get them level with each other and to get uniform gaps around and between the doors is a bit of a trick. That step alone took me almost 15 minutes. There is a shelf behind each door. The shelf support pin holes were not present in one of the sides. They were there, but coverd with the vinyl. This is a quality-control issue. All that said, I would definitely buy another one. In fact, when I'm done with this review I will order one for my father-in-law who saw mine and liked it. He doesn't know it yet, but he's going to help me build the next one! See all 2 customer reviews...

I am very picky, and had a vision of what I wanted, but I couldn't find it. Then I saw this! I immediately ordered it, I put it together myself, and it is just beautiful. The color is very dark, not really what I would call a cherry, but more of an ebony wood. The seeded glass in the doors adds a touch of real class and sets this piece apart from so many other TV consoles. It is a heavy, substantial piece, and looks like it cost $5,000! Alvine Arrived early from Everything Furniture(because est ship date was ridiculously delayed). Arrived in good condition. Small split topside veneer + big scratch on 1 plexiglass window. Assembly was easy for 1 person - took under 2 hours to complete. Looks good with 58" flatscreen, and my center channel fits (barely) in the center shelf (the key reason for purchasing this model). Design probs: Once you install doors there is no way to remove them to install an electronics component with the standard 18" width. The door hinge pins should have been designed for easy removal. Instead I had to unbolt the top panel of the unit to remove the doors (and first move the 100lb unwieldy tv). A huge p.i.t.a. for what should be simple door removal. Secondly, the doors are constructed so that there is no manner to remove the windows without breaking/damaging the door itself. The windows should be removable for ease of cleaning - for easy replacement (with plexiglass, glass, frosted glass, colored glass, speaker mesh, etcetcetc). I'd like to meet the morons who designed the doors and kick them directly in the genitals for being absolutely incompetent. Otherwise, the unit is looks nice. Its sturdy and holds a fair amount of stuff (remember to load everything & wire it all before installing the doors). 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. John By John Gribbin Was very pleased with the product. Definitely worth the money. 2 hours to assemble. Amazon photo is very good but (on my computer)doesn't show the cherry color. Stand is definitely cherry wood and very rich looking as well. I was trying to find something I could fit a printer in. The side door dimensions worked for me. Opening with door in place is about 15 1/2 wide. Inside of space is 17 1/2 wide. Opening without door in place is 16 1/4 due to post looking thing on each side. Someone mentioned the doors not fitting perfectly. They might be right but they are really pretty close. Good enough for me and I'm a little picky. Again the photo is what you get. As to the door hinges. If you wanted to remove the door I think you could do so without taking the top off. Use of a couple of razor blades or box cutter tool would allow you to pull the spring loaded pin down and pop off the door. There is no actual hinge rather there is a spring loaded pin, top and bottom of the doors that slides into a predrilled hole in the unit. You depress the pin (Like the top of a ball point pen)slide the door in place and they pop into place. A little hard to describe. The unit is heavy and well made. Has a very dressy look to it. Because it sets on solid wood legs, you don't have to worry about sliding it on the carpet and peeling off the veneer as some have mentioned with other units. On my stand I covered the plexiglass doors with a faux black leather contact paper. 5 bucks at Home Depot for a huge roll. The paper has a matt finish and looks quite nice IMHO. I took some photos and will try to add them to this review or add them separately under the share your photos area.
